PURPOSE:To obtain an angiographic adjuvant, composed of a fatty emulsion containing a compound having prostaglandin E1 activity, capable of sustaining effects for a long period with in a small dose with reduced side effects and further contributing to prevention of embolism in small blood vessels. CONSTITUTION:The objective fatty emulsion is obtained by mixing a prescribed amount of a vegetable oil (preferably refined soybean oil of high purity) with a phospholipid, a compound having prostaglandin E1 activity and, as necessary, additives such as an emulsification adjuvant, a stabilizer or a polymer substance, heating the resultant mixture, providing a solution, subjecting the obtained mixture to homogenizing treatment using a normally used homogenizer preparing a water-in-oil type dispersion, then adding a required amount of water to the above-mentioned dispersion, recarrying out homogenizing treatment in a homogenizer and converting the dispersion into an oil-in-water type emulsion. The compound having the prostaglandin E1 activity in an extremely stable form is absorbed from vascular endotherlia into blood vessels to sustain bloodstream increasing effects for a long period.
