PURPOSE:To photograph a subject with proper exposure by performing dimming operation according to reflected light from a specific area in a photographic picture plane as to the relation between irradiation angle relative information and view angle relative information on a photographic lens. CONSTITUTION:An electronic flash device 30 constitutes a flash light means, a photometry element 14 for dimming and a dimming circuit 19 a dimming means, a lens ROM 22 a view angle information output means, a flashing information output circuit 33 an irradiation angle information output means, and a control means 18 a dimming control means 18 respectively. The dimming control means 18 controls the dimming means 14 and 19 when irradiation angle relative information thetas is more than a specific value less than view angle relative information thetal to perform the dimming operation according to the reflected light from the specific center area 50a in the photographic picture plane. Further, when the relation between thetas and thetal is not as mentioned above, the dimming is carried out according to reflected light from areas 50a and 50b - 50e to obtain proper exposure. |
