发明名称 PRODUCTION OF CARBON FIBER REINFORCED CARBON MATERIAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a carbon fiber reinforced carbon material excellent in heat, chemical, and wear resistances, lightweight characteristics, etc., and having high strength by using, as a matrix, mesophase pitch having high impregnation property and carbonization yield. CONSTITUTION:At the time of producing a carbon fiber reinforced carbon material in which plural prepregs formed by using carbon fiber aggregates are laminated, the prepregs are formed by impregnating, by melting, mesophase pitch which has <=350 deg.C softening point and in which a temp., at which viscosity becomes 80 poises, and a carbonization yield at 600 deg.C are regulated to <=400 deg.C and >=70%, respectively, into the carbon fiber aggregates and then carrying out preheating treatment. Subsequently, these prepregs are laminated, pressed, and burned. It is preferable to perform the preheating treatment stage and the pressing stage in a nonoxidizing atmosphere at 350-490 deg.C and in a nonoxidizing atmosphere at 300-600 deg.C, respectively. The burning stage is usually carried out by exerting carbonization in a nonoxidizing atmosphere at about 600-1500 deg.C or further performing graphitization at about 2000-3000 deg.C.
