A process for discriminating sequence variants of a target nucleic acid is described. In this process variant specific cleavage products of a labeled oligonucleotide probe are produced by the 5'-3' exonuclease activity of a template dependent nucleic acid polymerase, which allows to identify the sequence variants present in a sample. |
