PURPOSE:To attain an easy production of recorder which is excellent in durability and capable of performing a high density array and a gradation recording by a method wherein a heat transfer element is formed on an electro-heat energy conversion element and on an electrode near the conversion element so that it has a heat gradient in the direction of power supply. CONSTITUTION:A heat conductor 17 is laid on an earth electrode 14 which is covered with an insulating layer 18 and on a part of a heat releasing element 12 on the earth electrode 18 side, which is not covered with the electrode 18, and a heat insulating element 16 is laid on a control electrode and on a part of the heat releasing layer 12 on the control electrode 13 side, which is not covered with the electrode 13. If the heat insulating element 16 is so thick enough that less amount of heat is dissipated up to the upper part of the heat insulating element 16, the temperature distribution along a line drawn from the point D up to a point D' on the surface of the heat insulating element 16 has a declivous temperature gradient in the direction from around the point D toward an orifice. When the input energy to the heat releasing layer 12 of a printing head having such a temperature gradient mentioned above is changed corresponding to image information, the position of critical point of bubble generation due to film boiling is changed in turn corresponding to the temperature gradient, so that the bubbles are gradually changed in size, and the spouting amount of ink can be easily controlled. |
