Short-circuit automatic adjustment and localisation system for frequency variators. It comprises first electronic means 2 controlled by a microprocessor 1 to excite the stator by means of a train of voltage pulses, of variable and increasing frequency, second electronic means 4 to measure the intensity of the current which is produced through the effect of the said train of pulses, and third electronic means 5 which compare said intensity with a constant predetermined intensity, providing to the microprocessor 1 the data to calculate the resistance of the stator; and increasing, until the said third electronic means 5, through the said second electronic means 4, detect a current intensity peak equal to a predetermined value, and provide this data to the microprocessor 1, which calculates the leakage inductances of the motor 3. It permits optimum adjustment of the speed of the motor, maintaining the torque constant, without intervention by the user. <IMAGE>
