This mechanism box comprises a container body C and two amplitude adapters A each consisting of a linking body 12 and an extending body. The container body C, which may house one or more mechanisms, can be coupled inside a duct 1 by means of guide projections and guide rails 7 possessed respectively so that the container body C can slide and, by means of a pressure body, have its position fixed. The linking bodies 12 can be coupled to the side walls of the duct 1 and to the container body C, the extender bodies being intended for ducting of greater amplitude than that defined by the container body C and linking body 12. The ends of the cover 2 of the duct 1 are overlapped by the amplitude adapters A and by the frame supporting the aforesaid mechanisms. No tool or machining operation is required for fitting the mechanism box to a duct 1. Applicable to electrical installations. <IMAGE>
