Variable frequency generator. Especially designed to be included in an integrated circuit; it has as its objective to permit modifications to the operating parameters (gradual frequency variation intervals, stable frequency intervals, frequency values, etc.) in a flexible manner. It has a master frequency generator 1 which is connected to a shift register 3 whose outputs N1 are connected to a timing circuit 4 which establishes the different time intervals. It has a multiplexer 5 which is connected to the master frequency generator 1 and to the timing circuit 4 in order to select a master frequency (F1 ...... FN2) during the intervals of time in which frequency variation is required. In addition it has an ascending-descending counter 6 into which the initial frequency value 8 is loaded and which is connected to the multiplexer 5 for the generation of the gradual frequency variation during the periods of time which require same and for the generation of a constant frequency in the remainder of the time periods. The timing circuit 4 is connected to the ascending- descending counter 6 to generate gradual frequency variations in the increasing or decreasing sense.
