A gear box for a small motor 1 includes a cover 6 provided with an annular groove 61 having a plurality of protuberances 610, a base 51 formed with a plurality of notches 510 adapted to the protuberances 610 of the cover 6 and force-fitted with the cover with the notches 510 engaged with the protuberances 610, and gearing 5 fixedly mounted on the base. The cover 6 is provided with threaded holes 62 for fixing a positioning plate 7 and holes 63 for receiving the ends of the gearing shafts. In an alternative embodiment (Fig 6) the cover and base are of rectangular shape. <IMAGE>
