Nappy of the type which comprises a casing formed by a permeable layer which is applied to the body of the user and an opposite, impermeable layer, characterized in that the permeable layer 1 has two bends or folds projecting in the manner of strips 8 which are equipped in the zone of the respective edges with pre-stretched elastic threads 9. The layer 1 may have a central trim which is soft to the touch and the lateral trims 2 which are stronger. The ends 8c of the strips 8 are joined to the layer 1 by means of an adhesive substance or by means of a heat-welding process.
