The protective module (1) has a number of chambers (3) receiving respective overvoltage diverters (4), which are enclosed by a cover (5). This has a convex curvature in the direction of the overvoltage diverter chambers (3) and is made of a spring elastic material. The cover (5) is secured at each end, so that its central section is held under tension to lie flat against the top of the module (1). Pref. the cover (5) has a pivot mounting (6) at one end, with a locking catch (7) attached to its opposite end for cooperating with a locking edge of the module (1).
