PURPOSE:To reduce the number of total series shut off points and to relieve the electrostriction of a current, by a method wherein a sampling shut off device and an auxiliary shut off device, which has the less number of shut off points, are placed in series, and a shut off part, being a part of the shut off device, is also used as an auxiliary shut off part. CONSTITUTION:Stators 31 and 32 at two shut off parts of a 6-point cut off sampling shut off device 30 are prevented from direct connection through the conductor, and an auxiliary shut off device 33, which has the less number of shut off points, a current source 1, a reactor 2, a voltage source 5, a surge absorber 8 and the like are connected as shown in a drawing. A high current flows from the current source 1 to the reactor 2, and shut off parts a-h. At an appropriate point of time, the sampling shut off device 30, the auxiliary shut off device 33 are opened approximately simultaneously, and a voltage, having a normal high voltage like the conventional systems, is applied from the voltage source 5. This permits the application of a high restriking voltage to a stator 34 at the end part of the sampling shut off device 30. There exist less number of series shut off points as compared with the conventional systems, and as a result, a current striction can be relieved. |
