MANUFACTURE OF ELECTRODE FOR LEAD BATTERY

PURPOSE:To pervent the dropping of active subsistance from the cut end section, by sticking a water absorbing paper on the surface of a paste layer coated on a continuous sheet having a meshed developing portion then cutting the sheet under moist state of paste. CONSTITUTION:Continuous stripe sheet 7 of lead or lead alloy has both sides developing in mesh except a stripe-shaped non-developing portion containing the ear chip of grid at the center. A water absorbing paper 11 is fed from a roller 10 to the lower face of said sheet 7 and carried with a cross belt 9 while laying said sheet 11, then the paste is filled in the developing portion of said sheet 7 by means of a paste filling device 12. A water absorbing paper 14 fed from a roller 13 is sticked on the upper face of said paste coated layer by means of a roller 15. Here the paper 14 becomes moist by absorbing the water in the paste then it is cut down to predetermined size by means of a cutting roller 17.
