PURPOSE:To make maintenance easy by enabling cleaning to be performed for a long time without exchanging a component by a method wherein a latent image forming material cleaning means which recovers liquid developer on a latent image forming material which was not transferred to a recording medium into liquid highly absorptive resin, is established. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording material 1 is rotated. For a magnetic latent image forming means 2, a developing means 3 forming a magnetic latent image onto a magnetic material layer of the magnetic recording material 1 dips the magnetic material layer of the magnetic recording material 1 into magnetic fluid 32 of a container 31 to actualize the magnetic latent image. A transfer means 4 puts a recording medium 5 between a transfer roller 41 and the magnetic recording materiel 1, transfers a developing pattern to the recording medium 5, and an initializing means 6 erases the magnetic latent image. A cleaning means 7 is composed of a cleaning pad 71, a guide component 73, an energizing means 72, and a pressure detecting means 72. Liquid highly absorptive resin 7a of the pad 71 absorbs magnetic fluid. Its volume is increased, and pressure received with a pressure sensor 74 is varied. When the pressure detected with the pressure sensor 74 exceeds a specific pressure, warning sound or the like are emitted to know that a specific quantity of the magnetic fluid has been reserved in the pad 71, and the pad is exchanged by a new pad 71. |
