FIlling of a mixing chamber (30) is quicker if the air pressure within is equalised, while filling, to the outside pressure. This is achieved by an opening (50) from the chamber to the outside, the end of the opening being covered with a filter (56). During the mixing process the filter tends to become clogged with particles flung out of the mix. When the mix is emptied, the sudden drop in internal pressure causes a back pressure which sucks the particles back into the chamber. Thus the filter is cleansed and ready for the next operation.
