摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a magenta color image with improved heat resistance, light-fastness, fixing properties, thermal diffusibility, chelating properties and color sharpness by providing a layer containing a specific color on a support. CONSTITUTION:In formula (l) of magenta color, R<1> is a hydroxy group or an amino group; G is COOR<2>, SO2NHR<2>, or SR<3> (R<2> is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; R<2> is an alkyl group or an aryl group), and X1 is a group of atoms forming an aromatic ring. X2 is a group of atoms forming a pyridine ring. If a metal ion is present in an image receiving layer 2 of an image receiving material 3 consisting of a support l and the layer 2, a color in a thermally sensitive layer 5 of a thermal transfer material 6 composed of a support 4 and the layer 5, is, for example, allowed to migrate diffusively, due to heat from the thermal resistor 8 of a thermal head 7, to the image receiving material 3. Then the color reacts with a metal ion in the image receiving layer 2 to form a chelate color. The metal ion supplying compound is inorganic or organic salts and metal complexes, preferably organic salts and complexes.
