PURPOSE:To manufacture a fuel cell with ease and at a low cost by obtaining a larger effective part of a pole from a material of the same size and simplifying the structure of a separator. CONSTITUTION:Not only passage hole 5, 6 are provided on one side of the periphery of a tile 1 respectively for supplying oxidation gas OG and fuel gas FG, but also passage holes 7, 8 for exhausting respective gases are provided on the other sides of the fringes. A center plate 10 is provided with a spacer 10a on its periphery and tube-shaped protrusions 11, which meet the passage holes 5, 6 and 7, 8 of the tile 1 respectively for the supply and exhaust of the oxidation gas and the fuel gas, on one side and the other side of the peripheral part. A separator 9, has holes 13 in which the tube-shaped protrusions 11 can be fitted formed on one side and the other sides of the peripheral part and has a number of cantilever type bent piece 14 protruded on one face side, and consists of a current collector 12a, 12b which are positioned on both sides of the center plate 10 so as to form a gas passage between the center plate 10 and itself. For a cathode 21 and an anode 31 whose outside dimensions are made to be fitted to the inside of the spacer 10a of the center plate 10, cells by which the tiles 1 are sandwiched from both sides are laminated into multilayers through the separators 9. |
