PURPOSE:To increase printing speed without degrading image quality and carrying properties by mutually switching the action mode of an inversion means to inversion and noninversion at every recording sheet. CONSTITUTION:An inversion unit 15 switches selectively a sheet ejected from a printer main body 10 into a desired direction and ejects it. First, one-side of the recording sheet is sequentially printed up to the set and the sprinkled number of the sheets, and thereafter, one-side of a new recording sheet and the other side of the recording sheet whose one side is already image-formed are mutually printed. At this time, the control of the action timing of each part is properly carried out, so that each recording sheet is not stuck to any parts in a carrying path, but plural recording sheets 28b, 28c, 28d, and 28e whose one-sides are image-formed are sprinkled over the carrying path and the other sides of respective recording sheets are sequentially image-formed to obtain a double-sided image formation. |
