Computer controlled injection moulding to maintain isochore phase - by monitoring pressure and temp. valves against time and determining representing core of shot by computer

The process maintains the isochore phase when injection moulding thermoplastics. When the mould is filled with the shot it is subjected to a consolidating pressure and cooled at the same time, its specific vol. is maintained constant (isochore phase) by the pressure in the mould and the temp. representing that at the interior of the shot. The pressure-temp. relationship is determined and imposed by a computer on to the machine controls. The temp. representing that at the core of the shot is determined by computer-supported observations plus analysis of the measured values against time during the process. ADVANTAGE - The procedure provides a representative temp. of the moulding by means of which the isochore phase of the process can be better controlled than by using the usual outer temp.
