The treatment appts. comprises a couch surface (4) and an upper radiation element (1). At least one selectively switchable UB radiation source (2) is assigned to at least the upper radiation element. At least one colour light source (3) is provided in the latter for irradiating the user lying on the couch section. A lower radiation element (5) can be provided underneath the couch area (4). At least one colour light source (3) is also provided here. The colour light source can be in the form of a fluorescent tube to extend over the whole length of the radiation elements (1, 5) or only part of it. The colour light sources can be yellow, red, green and blue, selectively switchable for various combinations. ADVANTAGE - Allows for therapeutic as well as tanning treatment.
