Key collection storage case with release of keys to authorised persons - uses electrically activated mechanical tipping mechanism for delivery of assigned key

The secure key storage case has a matrix of storage positions for respective keys (1). Each horizontal shelf can be tipped to allow the required key to be fed to a discharge chute (9). The mechanical tipping mechanism is controlled by an external electrical element (6), e.g. an electromagnet or electric motor. Pref., the discharge chute is separated from the key storage positions via a labyrinth seal (7, 8). The key (1') sliding down the chute passes the seal or light barrier and activates an electrical contact (11) so that another key (1) takes a vacated storage position. The access to the storage case is enabled upon insertion of a coded magnetic card as an ID card. ADVANTAGE - Simple automatic dispensing of required key to right person, avoiding delivery of another person's key or two at once.
