A self-adhesive label is coated with the adhesive on the back and has a second coated film on the front side but this is prevented from adhering to the main film by an intermediate layer of wax. The main film is pref. a transparent polyester, the prod. is pref. mounted on a smooth polyester substrate before use and the second film is pref. polyethylene which is considerably thinner than the main film. ADVANTAGE - The second and top film provides protection for the main film but can be mechanically stripped off when the protection is no longer needed.
