PURPOSE:To stably extrude a material by kneading and homogenizing the same by a method wherein a plurality of grooves each of which is formed so that groove-shape depressed parts having an angle of inclination larger than that of the grooves to the axial line thereof are formed side by side to the region of a part of a screw and grooves each having length sufficient to cross said grooves are provided to the inner peripheral surface of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The screw 5 of a single screw extruder 1 has a region A having screw grooves 6 and a region B having screw grooves 7. Each of the grooves 7 is provided so that a large number of groove-like depressed parts 9 having a long oval shape and forming a large angle gammaof inclination are mutually formed side by side along an angle beta of inclination and a large number of grooves having length sufficient to cross the screw grooves 7 are provided to the inner peripheral surface of the liner 8 of the cylinder 3 of the region B. A synthetic resin material is supplied to a base end cylinder 2 from the opening 11 of a hopper and sent to the intermediate cylinder 3 along with the rotation of the screw 5. Since each of the groove-like depressed parts 9a is deep in the angle gamma formed with respect to the axial line thereof, sufficient advance force is given to the resin and, since the depressed parts 9b are in contact with the depressed parts 9b at a shallow angle beta, the resin is easily transferred while it receives the tumbling rotary action due to the mutual action with the grooves 10 of the cylinder 3 to be kneaded. |
