PURPOSE:To have highly reliable monitor of inter-cell connections by measuring the surface temp. around the connection part at the time of connecting the electrode column of an inter-cell connecting member through a bulkhead, and thereupon monitoring the connected state. CONSTITUTION:An electrode column 4 of an inter-cell connecting member 3 of a bunch of electrode plates 2 consisting in a laminate with separator of neg. electrode plates and pos. electrode plates, which are accommodated in a battery jar with a bulkhead 1 interposed, is arranged so as to be in connection with a through hole 5 in the bulkhead 1, and the inter-cell connecting member 3 is pinched by an electrode 6 provided with a projection, and current is flowed, and connection between the cells is made. Through a troidal coil 9 a welding monitor 10 measures the fed amperage and the number of current feeding cycles of the current made to flow to the inter-cell connecting member 3 from a transformer 7 via an electrode holder 8 and the electrode 6, and signals exhibiting either acceptable or not are sent to a sequencer 11. An image made by an image machine 12 such as an infrared TV is taken in an image processing device 13, where cell failure is detected, and an appropriate signal is sent alike to the sequencer 11. This accomplishes monitor of inter-cell connection with high reliability. |
