A fuel rod for a nuclear reactor comprises a sealing tube 1 made of zirconium-based alloy and a nuclear fuel 3 enclosed in the sealing tube. Arranged on the internal surface of the sealing tube is a protective layer 2 which protects the sealing tube against stress corrosion marking and consists of zirconium containing 0.1-5 per cent by weight beryllium. <IMAGE> |
