SECRET PROTECTING METHOD FOR MENU SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To improve the secret protecting ability of a menu system by attaining a constitution where a password code that can use the software is stored in relation to a logical device name of a terminal equipment to a menu code and the software can be used only by a prescribed terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:A user inputs the menu and password codes through the terminal equipments 2 in a computer system. These inputted menu and password codes are given to a CPU 11. At the same time, the logical device names showing the names of terminal equipments are automatically given to the CPU 11 from the equipments 2. The CPU 11 reads those codes inputted from the equipments 2 through a 1st deciding part 101. At the same time, the logical device names inputted automatically from the equipments 2 are read through a 2nd deciding part 102. Then a fact whether the software corresponding to the read menu code is practicable or not. The part 101 checks whether the menu and password codes are stored in relation to a menu data base 11 or not and also decides the propriety of these codes.
