PURPOSE:To eliminate a useless margin by performing external erasion to a transfer paper in an optimum size in accordance with the size of a specified area in an external erasion mode and obtaining a copy. CONSTITUTION:This machine is provided with an automatic transfer paper selection means 4 for automatically selecting the transfer paper in the optimum size based on the input data on an area specified by an area input means 1 and copying magnification specified by a copying magnification specification means 3, and a scanning start timing calculation means 5 for obtaining a length in a scanning direction by an optical system based on the input data on the above specified area and calculating the scanning start timing optimum for the length, then the transfer paper selected by the means 4 is fed in specified timing and the scanning operation by the optical system is started in the timing calculated by the means 5, so that a copied image in which the image in an area other than the specified area is erased is obtained. |
