<p>PURPOSE:To improve quantization accuracy with less calculation quantity by retrieving a coded code with respect to an input vector by binary tree coding processing and applying distance calculation to plural neighbouring codes with a near distance from the coded code so as to output a code number with the shortest distance. CONSTITUTION:A binary tree coding section 2 references a code book storage section 1 to obtain a coded code with respect to an input vector and outputs a corresponding coded code number. Then an inneighbour code re-quantization section 4 uses a neighbour code number storage section 3 to select plural neighbour codes with a short distance from the coded code corresponding to the code number, decides a code with a minimum distance from the input vector among them and outputs the code number as a representative code number. Thus, quantization accuracy is improved with less calculation quantity without making distance calculation with all codes.</p> |
