PURPOSE:To reduce driving power by providing a driving circuit for applying a driving voltage having same frequency as the resonance frequency of oscillator and stator onto the oscillator with predetermined phase pattern and a drive control means for blocking application of driving voltage onto the oscillator at a time point when a rotor moves by a predetermined amount after start of each step operation. CONSTITUTION:A driver 104 applies a driving voltage onto an oscillator 108 through a power save circuit 109. Upon elapse of a predetermined time after rising of a driving signal or upon confirmation of a predetermined rotational amount based on an output from an encoder, a drive control circuit 110 closes the gate of the power save circuit 109 to block appication of the driving voltage onto an oscillator 107. Since it is of no use to apply the driving voltage after movement of a rotor to a node position, the rotor is driven only for the time required for one step movement of the rotor if such time is known previously or application of driving voltage is blocked upon confirmation of one step movement based on a movement detected through an encoder or the like thus reducing the driving power. |
