PURPOSE:To obtain an ink which can be delivered stably and gives a a recorded image excellent in water, light and marker resistances and having a high density by using as constituents carbon black, at most a specified amount of a water-soluble resin, specified water-soluble organic solvents, water, and a specified dye. CONSTITUTION:An ink which contains carbon black, at most 2 wt.% water-soluble resin, water-soluble organic solvents comprising a polyhydric alcohol and/or its alkyl ether and an aliphatic monohydric alcohol, water, and a dye of formula I [wherein (n) is 0 or 1; R1, R2, and R3 are each H, CH3, OCH3, OH, NH2, NHCOCH3 or a sulfo group; M is an alkali metal or (organo)ammonium] (e.g. a dye of formula II) (preferably in an amount of 0.5-2.0 wt.%). This ink has such advantages that it can be delivered stably even under variable drive conditions or during long-term service and that it gives a recorded image excellent in fastness and having a high density. |
