PURPOSE:To obtain an ink which can be delivered stably and gives a recorded image excellent in water, light and marker resistances and having a high density by using as constituents carbon black, at most a specified amount of a water-soluble resin, specified water-soluble organic solvents, water, and a specified dye. CONSTITUTION:An ink which contains carbon black, at most 2 wt.% water-soluble resin, water-soluble organic solvents comprising a polyhydric alcohol and/or its alkyl ether and an aliphatic monohydric alcohol, water, and a dye of formula I [wherein R1 and R2 are each H, alkyl, alkoxy or NHCOCH3; R3 is SO3M or H; R4 is H, SO3M or NHR5; R5 is H, (substituted)phenyl or a group of formula II; R6 and R7 are each H or C2H4OH; M is an alkali metal or (organo) ammonium; (l), (m), and (n) are each 0 or 1] (e.g. a dye of formula III) (preferably in an amount of 0.5-2.0 wt.%). This ink has such advantages that it can be delivered stably even under variable drive conditions or during long-term service and that it gives a recorded image excellent in fastness and having a high density. |
