PURPOSE:To rapidly form a copied image by eliminating the useless movement of an image-formation means which moves in accordance with copying magnification. CONSTITUTION:Even when an operation for changing the copying magnification is performed by a magnification up key 205, a magnification down key 206 and ten keys 202 after a full color mode is selected by a full color key 232, a main lens 35 is made to rest at a reading position till finishing preliminary scanning, so that the useless movement folowing up the specification of the copying magnification, which occurs in the main lens 35 in a conventional manner, is eliminated. Thus, the wasteful consumption of the main lens 35 and a motor for driving the main lens 35 is prevented and the life of a machine is prolonged. |
