<p>PURPOSE:To increase the quantity of information with which the input and the display of data are attained on a single screen by performing the selection of items, the input of commands, etc., within an effective range of coordinate detection of a transparent tablet that exceeds the display effective range of a monolithic display input device. CONSTITUTION:The prescribed processing decided previously is carried out in accordance with a prescribed area when the coordinates are inputted in a prescribed range of a partial area of a monolithic display input device 1. In other words, a CPU 11 decides the pointed 'cancel', 'next page' or 'precedent page' based on the information showing the position of a selected coordinate area 25 stores in a RAM 12 and then carries out the designated processing. Under such conditions, the position of the area 25 is confirmed by reference to a label 23 since the area 25 is not put on a liquid crystal display LCD 3.
