PURPOSE:To promote the gaseous CO2 conversion reaction by irradiating the photoreduction catalyst suspended close to the water surface in a water vessel with sunlight and supplying gaseous carbon dioxide on the catalyst to cause a photoreduction reaction. CONSTITUTION:The photoreduction catalyst 1 in which a catalyst obtained by depositing a reducing active component on a conductive carrier is brought into contact with a photocatalyst obtained by depositing an oxidizing active component on a semiconductor through a water-repellent material is suspended close to the water surface in a water vessel 5. The catalyst is irradiated with sunlight 2, and gaseous carbon dioxide 3 is supplied on the catalyst 1 to cause a photoreduction reaction. Consequently, the gaseous carbon dioxide is easily supplied on the photoreduction catalyst close to the water surface, and the gaseous CO2 conversion reaction is promoted. |
