PURPOSE:To prepare an electroviscous fluid exhibiting a stable Winslow effect by dispersing fine particles of a specified substance into an electrically insulating oily liq. CONSTITUTION:An electroviscous fluid is prepd. by dispersing a fine particulate material into an electrically insulating oily liq. (e.g. chlorodiphenyl). The fine particulate material is pref. a mixture consisting of a polymeric compd. having at least one member selected from polyoxyalkylene chains, polymethyl vinyl ether chain and the like (e.g. a cured product obtd. from polyethylene oxide and trifunctional polyisocyanate curing agent) and an electrolyte (e.g. LiClO4). |
