PURPOSE:To improve aerodynamic performance by providing a plane part of more than 40% in the radius of gyration at the periphery of a hub, and planting plural vanes at the plane part to form rotary vanes, thereby placing the plane part into the state of a fixed vane. CONSTITUTION:A plate hub 34 is fitted to a rotation axis 33 rotatably fitted into the bearing 32 of link mechanism 31. In the peripheral part of the hub 34, a face provided with the rotation axis 33 is formed into an approximately flat surface 34, and the other face is formed into a curved face 35. Plural rotary vanes are also provided at the hub peripheral part. The desirable size of the center hub 34 of a windmill is approximately half the diameter of the whole windmill. As a result, the center plate hub 34 works in the same way as a fixed vane even in head-wind sailing so as to have large lift and small resistance. Such a fault as to generate stalling as in the existing hub and rotary vane root part so as to have large resistance and small lift is thereby dissolved, and a large effect on the improvement of sailing performance is obtained. |
