PURPOSE:To execute multi-channel service by respectively inputting n output ports of an optical demultiplexer to 1 X N optical couplers and inputting respective coupler outputs to (n X 1) optical switch type optical fiber selectors equal to the multiplexed number of wavelengths. CONSTITUTION:For instance, a 4-wavelength multiplexed optical signal transmitted through an optical fiber is branched into M components about all the wavelength components by an (1 X M) optical coupler 19, one of the M-branched outputs is inputted to a 4-wavelength demultiplexer 17 and respectively different and independent wavelength components are outputted from the four output ports of the demultiplexer 17. Respective outputs are inputted to four(1 X 4) optical couplers 18, the unit of four outputs outputted from respective couplers 18 is connected so as to be inputted to each of four (4 X 1) fiber selectors 20 and each selector 20 can select an optical input port out of four only by turning on/off control voltage. Since the selector can correspond to the increment of channels only by increasing the multiplexed number of wavelengths, multi-channel service can be attained. |
