PURPOSE:To allow the displaying of plural kinds of display images and high- grade color displaying by including a pair of light transparent substrates, plural color selecting members and plural display electrodes. CONSTITUTION:This display device includes a pair of the light transparent substrates 22a, 22b provided on both sides of a liquid crystal layer and the plural color selecting members 24 which are provided over the entire surface on one side in the thickness direction of the light transparent substrates 22a, 22b and select the transmitted light respectively to any one color among plural kinds of predetermined color. The device also includes the plural display electrodes 23, 26, 28 which are provided within the display region on the liquid crystal layer side of the light transparent substrates 22a, 22b and have the light transparency respectively formed in the range corresponding to the plural color selecting members 24 selected in accordance with the predetermined colors to be displayed in the display region. Two kinds of display screens are displayed in this way without laminating the two liquid crystal display elements and the diversity and versatility of the display of the color liquid crystal display device are improved. |
