PURPOSE:To heat-treat only a part requiring heat treatment in a short time and to obtain a zirconia-based sintered body having superior mechanical strength by irradiating a molded body or a coating layer of zirconia-based powder with laser beams. CONSTITUTION:A mold body or a coating layer of zirconia-based powder is irradiated with laser beams and a zirconia-based sintered body contg. >=5 vol.% at least one of cubic and tetragonal phases as crystal phases is obtd. CO2, YAG or He-Ne laser beams may be used as the laser beams but CO2 laser beams powerful as a heating source are especially effective. Any of single and multiple modes may be used as the beam mode and an oscillation beaming method or a linear beaming method enabling relatively easy rapid heating in a short time is especially effective as the beaming method. |
