PURPOSE:To prevent a belt-like endless moving body from being broken in a state it is permanently biased by forcibly giving biasing force to the endless moving body and reciprocating the endless moving body in a certain moving range. CONSTITUTION:When one end of the belt-like endless moving body 1 reaches one most biased position in a direction crossed with its moving direction, a pressurizing means 6 applies larger tension to one side of the moving body 1 than to an opposite side and when the opposite end there of reaches the opposite most biased position, the means 6 applies larger tension to the opposite side than to one side. The moving body 1 is forcibly reciprocated within a certain movable range by the means 6. Then, image forming timing for respective image carrying means 61-64 is adjusted based on the moving quantity or the moving speed of a mark 2 in the direction crossed with the moving direction of the belt-like endless moving body caused by the permanent bias, the distortion of an image which occurs by using a material having sufficient elasticity and the increase of a transfer current, etc., are eliminated. |
