PURPOSE:To perform appropriate light emission and exposure in high probability by deciding a divided area which is not used for dimming in the case of normal light emission by using the photometric output and the emitted light quantity of a preliminary light emitter at a final stage and performing the normal light emission. CONSTITUTION:When preliminary light emission is performed the photometry of reflected light from the plurally divided areas of a field is performed to obtain the photometric output of every area from divisional photometry means 8a-8e. Then, the outputs from the divisional photometry elements 8a-8e are fetched in a photometric circuit 34, and in the case that at least one of the photometric outputs therefrom attains a specified value, the emitted light quantity is decreased and the preliminary light emission is performed again. The preliminary light emission in a state where the emitted light quantity is decreased is repeated until the photometric output which attains the specified value does not exist. By using the photometric output and the emitted light quantity at the time of performing the repeated preliminary light emission at the final stage, the divide area which is not used for dimming in the case of the normal light emission is decided. Thus, the appropriate light emission and exposure are performed in light probability. |
