PURPOSE:To perform recording and reproduction of data again under good contactness due to increased head weight, by automatically adjusting the head weight in response to the function of repetitive recording/reproduction based on the production of read-in error of data. CONSTITUTION:If data read-in error takes place, the repetitive recording/playback function is used. A heat source 19 is heated based on the error signal correspondingly. Since the thermal expansion coefficient of members 18a, 18b is different, they bend downward to compress a spring 17. Thus, the head weight is increased to improve the contactness between an upper head 12 and a medium 5, allowing to increase the reliability through sure data recording and playback. Thereafter, when the repetitive recording/playback is finished, no power is applied to the heat source 19 to be restored to a normal state. |
