<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a fault from affecting onto the entire signal transmission system by using a switching means, and interrupting a transmission line at an interruption point when the fault is detected in at least one of transmission lines interrupted at the interruption point. CONSTITUTION:Even when a line discontinuity fault takes place in a transmission power line 3b at a fault location 6, since the transmission line 3 is connected in a loop, the operation of the signal transmission system is not stopped. In this case, in order to locate the fault location 6, test switches for signal transmitters 7a-7e are operated sequentially to interrupt the transmission line 3 in the unit of blocks, the block including the fault location 6 is easily detected at the signal transmitters 7b and 7a having the said block inbetween.</p> |
