PURPOSE:To provide an idiomatic sentence dictionary device which is high in usability by selecting a desired idiomatic sentence only by inputting part of the idiomatic sentence. CONSTITUTION:The several starting characters of reading KANA(Japanese syllabary) of the idiomatic sentence are inputted as a retrieval character string from an input means 1. A retrieval character string storage means 2 is stored with the retrieval character string inputted from the input means 1. A retrieval means 3 retrieves an idiomatic sentence dictionary 4 according to the retrieval character string stored in the retrieval character string storage means 2 and passes the retrieval result to a complementing means 5. The complementing means 5 complements the retrieval character string according to the retrieval result. A display means 6 displays the retrieval character string complemented by the complementing means 5 and a finally selected idiomatic sentence. |
