PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of the saturation and density of a recording image by providing a thermal recording layer containing a diazonium salt and a coupler reacting therewith to form a color on a support and providing a protective layer wherein an org. compound having a specific m.p. is present in a water-soluble polymer in a minute particle state to the uppermost layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one thermal recording layer containing a diazonium salt and a coupler reacting therewith to form a color is provided on a support and a protective layer wherein a 20-100wt.% of an org. compound having an m.p. of 150 deg.C or lower is present in a water-soluble polymer in a minute particle state having a mean particle size of 1mum or less is provided as the uppermost layer. When the org. compound is zinc stearate, the adhesion of refuse to a thermal head is reduced and the adhesion of the protective layer and the thermal head is hard to generate which is preferable.
