<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of soot separation of a soot separating device in which a swirl guide plate for exhaust gas and an annular swirl initiating chamber are provided in that order in a section extending from the start end side center part to the peripheral part within a cylindrical body, by forming the swirl guide plate in an inclined shape such that the distance from the center axis is enlarged progressively in the direction from the start end to the terminal end. CONSTITUTION:In a soot separating device 24, an exhaust gas inlet pipe 2 is provided communicated with the center part of the inside of a cylindrical body 1 on the start end side S, and an exhaust gas outlet pipe 3 is provided communicated with the center part thereof on the terminal end side E. A swirl guide plate 5 for exhaust gas 4 and an annular swirl initiating chamber 6 are provided in that order in the direction from the center part thereof on the start end side S to the peripheral part. Further, a dust collecting chamber 7 is provided in the peripheral part of the inside of the cylindrical body 1 on the terminal end side E, and a soot inlet port 9 is formed in the start end face 8. By this arrangement, the swirl guide plate 5 is formed into an inclined shape such that the distance from the center axis 12 gradually increases in the direction from the start end 10 to the terminal end 11. Accordingly, the inlet exhaust gas 4 is deflected toward the terminal end side E so as to increase the pitches of a swirl stream 23 of the exhaust gas 4, thereby it is possible to enhance the efficiency of soot separation.</p> |
