<p>PURPOSE:To output NTSC luminance signal and color difference signal as an EDTV signal by writing the NTSC luminance signal and color difference signal into an EDTV double speed conversion memory with a clock pulse whose frequency is nearly 14.3MHz and to output the NTSC luminance signal and color difference signal as a signal able to be reproduced on an HD pattern by correcting the difference from the aspect ratio so as to prevent distortion of a picture. CONSTITUTION:When an EDTV signal is outputted, the NTSC video signal is written into a double speed conversion memory 5 while being divided into vertical 522 lines and horizontal 910 lines by using a clock pulse whose frequency is nearly 14.3MHz and the signal is read by using a clock pulse whose frequency is nearly 28.6MHz for read via a changeover device 13 to convert the NTSC signal subjected to interlace scanning into an EDTV signal subjected to non-interlace processing. When the video signal written in the double speed conversion memory by using the clock pulse whose frequency is nearly 14.3MHz is read by using a clock pulse whose frequency is nearly 38.8MHz in place of reading by using the clock pulse whose frequency is nearly 28.6MHz to compress a prescribed video signal.</p> |
