The present invention relates to pincers for extracting staples and brads which have been driven into a hard support, the pincers including two branches (1, 2) articulated by a rotation pin (3) and exhibiting a nose (4) exhibiting internal lateral flanks (14, 15) including at least one non-cutting part the profile of which, in the closed position, substantially corresponds to the cross-section of the emerging part of the brad to be ripped out. The length of the branches (1, 2) is at least ten times the length of the nose (4), one of the parts of the nose (4) exhibiting a lateral extension substantially perpendicular to the axis of tearing out.
