MANUFACTURE OF THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To eliminate the coating irregularity of an ink coating process for an end mark and to prevent the generation of erroneous operation in the detection of a terminal by forming the end mark by pressing chalk-like hot melt ink to the thermal transfer layer of the terminal part of a recording material on a heating roll on an electromagnetic induction heating system. CONSTITUTION:An end mark is formed on the thermal transfer layer 3 of the terminal part of a recording material by pressing chalk-like hot melt ink on a heating roll 1 of an electromagnetic induction heating system. Further pref., the end mark is formed by pressing the chalk like hot melt ink 2 by an air cylinder 4. It is necessary to control the surface temp. of the heating roll for melting the hot melt ink to the accuracy of +1 deg.C with respect to set temp. and, therefore, it is indispensable to employ the heating roll due to the electromagnetic induction heating capable of controlling temp. in the accuracy of +0.5 deg.C in order to melt the hot melt ink. It is necessary to control pressing pressure of the hot melt ink to the range of 0.05-1.0kg/cm<2> in a pressure gauge and it is indispensable to make it possible to always keep pressing pressure constant using a press device due to the air cylinder.
