<p>PURPOSE:To prevent production of fog on a reproduced picture through moving picture processing when a still object starts moving by using a video signal read from a picture memory so as to allow the video signal to replace a video signal reproduced at a moving picture area. CONSTITUTION:An original video signal from a still object is reproduced with high resolution by overlapping the video signals for plural frames or fields onto each other at reproduction circuits 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and the resulting video signal is stored in a picture memory 18. When the still object starts moving, the picture of the object is reproduced at low resolution by the reproduction circuits 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 as a moving picture region. In this case, since circuits 12, 20, 21A, 21B, 22, 23 for setting a changeover circuit 18 set it to select a video signal read from the memory 18, the video signal with high resolution stored in the memory 18 is used in place of the video signal with low resolution. Thus, even when still object starts moving, the original video signal with high resolution is reproduced.</p> |
